Holed Up

It has been, as with most of you, a 10 month “lock down” here. What do I enjoy?  Quiet time to write. Quiet time to read. What do I not enjoy? Too much quiet.

I miss going mask-less in retail, the multiple options at an open gym, being with friends un-virtually and comfortable restaurant dining. Restaurants are closed other than delivery here in California, but, even if they opened, how relaxing is lowering your mask indoors to eat.

But, who is complaining? I am 75, sharing life with my spouse of 43 years. We have had conflict, but I think we have grown in our ability to negotiate that by the grace of God. It has been, is and will be challenging.

The other challenge is somehow getting vaccinated soon even at 75. Many options, none fluid or easy to obtain. But again, who is complaining?

You folks in Stockholm? Please give a team Nobel Prize to the key people at Pfizer and Moderna.

In the foreseeable future, those of us who get through this will breathe a huge sigh of relief. I pray the vaccinations will take on warp speed, as with their development. Thank God for huge favors.
