My Writing Experience

Since this 2020 blog I have shifted gears and written the first draft of a novelette, my first fiction writing. It has been a real joy.

Pilgrim on a Long, Long Journey

I began writing for publication about six years ago. It was something I had hoped to do upon retirement. I understood at that point one could self publish, something that really only required grit and a love for the art.

Since about 15 years of age, writing and speaking were aspects of my life I found very meaningful. It didn’t start off well as my confirmation speech in Sunday school was done with my knees knocking. Afterwards, it slowly, and at times quickly, got better.

The occasions in which I wrote and spoke varied over the course of my life. Early on it was debate and what we called student congress in high school.

Over the rest of my life, it consisted of occasional eulogies and celebratory milestones at work, i.e., my 5th anniversary. People frequently responded favorably to those talks.

Vaccine Hesitancy?

“Studies have consistently shown that 20 percent to 30 percent of medication prescriptions are never filled, and that approximately 50 percent of medications for chronic disease are not taken as prescribed,” according to a review in Annals of Internal Medicine.Apr 17, 2017” from a New York Times 2017 article.

Additionally, thousands drink too much alcohol, or take illicit drugs, or smoke, or have horrid diets, etc. Is it any wonder vaccine hesitancy is a problem. Millions have been vaccinated against COVID 19 to be safely protected. Yet millions have not.

People are rather complex. Don’t you think?
